From Our Customers
I have multiple 1911s going back to a 1916 vintage, including at least one much higher priced DS 9. The Tisas B9R DS feels and shoots as good as, if not better than that more expensive one. In fact, I bought two of B9Rs for the price of a a single brand name DS 9 I was considering. Now on the sights: As you likely know, most DS units today come with blackout rear sights, which are not great for older iron sight folks, like me. I like the XS Sight DXT2 system, and have them on as many of my handguns as they make. Currently, XS doesn't offer a set for this Tisas. But since this is a mil spec gun, I checked with the Tisas techs and, with the info they gave me, Tisas put a set of front and rear together and sold it to me. Here's the combo: Front is a Colt 1911 Big Dot (the tall one), and rear is a Glock G2 Tritium Express .240 H. You'll have to file down the front a little, and Vibe Tight the rear (included). Ask for Monte and tell him Jim sent you.
