Bought the MAC9 and felt that the original grip was lacking a little of texture or grip and seen this come out to grab it right away. Other than getting a metal grip this is the next best thing. It’s easy to install and run and gun perfect texture.
The coarse texture is just right. About like 120 grit sandpaper. Using this with a gen 1 STI frame. Had to remove a very small amount of material at the top of the grip and enlarge the hole in the small tab in the frame that takes the threaded insert at the front of the trigger guard to get the to line up. An EGW magwell was a very tight fit but went on. The mag release is not included and Tisas/SDS does not sell it. You'll have to order a Gen 2 Staccato release from Staccato.
The factory delivered grip for the MAC DS9 pistols are...not good. At least from the grip texture standpoint...way too slick. I have 2 and have wrapped both with hockey tape and have been investigating stippling them. FINALLY, MAC offers this 2nd caliber grip module. I ordered the coarse version...verdict? Near perfection. Easy to swap, easy to install. The "gripiness" is almost perfect. I'd put it at about a 150 grit sandpaper level. I personally would like a bit more roughness, but this is a nice balance. Only other suggestions would make it full wrap-around and not in "panels". A smidge expensive but worth it.

I had stippled my tisas b9r ds 19ll 5" grip but wanted to try this grip module, waited till i was notified they were back in stock and ordered mine, shipping was fast and I was not disappointed, the coarse feels very good but not too aggressive as to bruise skin, installed as soon as I received it and took it to the range, very satisfied, thinking about getting one for my mac 9ds 5" comp
The texture on 2ND CALIBER 1911 DOUBLE STACK GRIP MODULE, COARSE, is definitely better than the stock grip. The grip also feels less blocky. There is no significant difference in quality of polymer and the weight may even be slightly lighter. Overall I am pleased. The installation was very straightforward and needed no fitting. No instructions are included.
