Another classic being resurrected by Military Armament Corporation is the new MAC Knife based on a design known the world over for its use in combat around the globe. Originally designed to give troops serving in Vietnam a more modern knife for use in hand-to-hand combat, it went on to be extremely popular among troops during the conflict and beyond. Today the MAC Knife starts with a 440C blade with Satin Stainless finish that is ground and heat treated to 58-60 HRc for a durable 20˚ cutting edge that is easy to maintain. The aluminum handle features a matte gray cerakote finish with a subtle texture that blends well with the contrasting pommel and guard. Each MAC Knife comes with a military style leather sheath.

I seen the 20% off July 4th sale and got me another one of these outstanding knives. Now , I’ll put one on my battle belt to carry when I’m shooting my MAC 9 DS’s. Yes plural , I have a couple of those too, because they are awesome ! I’ll keep one in my display with my MK II’s . I have 4 originals from 70’s, 80’s , 90’s and 2000’s . As my first review , these aren’t a MK II but a great clone and well worth the money , especially being on sale . I actually like this one better than the last run of the Gerber MK ii’s , I believe mine is a 2018. This one is very close to my 1970 , which is my favorite. I think it’s because no serrations . Anyway , beautiful blade and can’t beat it for the price. MAC the knife is outstanding, just like all things from this company !!
Almost identical to original Mark II knife, fit and finish is perfect, feels great in the hand a classic design perfectly executed!!!
Straight out of the box the blade was dull and the wasp waist is super thin. Did a quick test stab on some cardboard I have wrapped up in duct tape. Twisted and pried the knife out and the blade bent at the wasp waist. Such a disappointment.
Super nice looking. Slim design. Blade wasn’t sharp.
What's most interesting about this knife is that it's cross section drops from @ .200" at the widest location to @ .150" at the narrowest spot. Call it double reverse taper I guess. Makes for a whippy tip. All 4 bevels were pretty well even so it didn't take too much effort to get it to work sharp. NIce light hand feel.
Nice knife great price
It’s not a Gerber mkii but it is a very nice clone . Look at the several mkii’s on the internet and you can see which one they cloned. I think they did an outstanding job . I love this knife , it’s the center piece, just under my M16A1 in my Vietnam tribute display case. Look at the prices of a mkii, this is a steal compared to them . Another great product from MAC !
In 1969 I did not buy a Gerber MK II because the blade was "bent". Later I learned the bend was intentional. When the MAC MK II was introduced I decided to make up for my error fifty-six years ago and buy the knife! The fit and finish on the MAC MK II is equal to the Gerber and the 440c steel is a better choice for a hard use knife than the carbon steel on the original Gerber. The MAC MK II will definitely outlast me.
Falls far short of the original! Needs to be a half inch longer and the waist is way too thin. Beef it up a little to conform to the original. Charge more if you need to, and you'd have a real winner!
