I prefer optics on my pistols due to issues with my eyes (mono vision). The Carry optic cut slide was a perfect upgrade to my Stingray 9mm. There was no fitting required after checking key tolerances, the extractor was tuned correctly, the finish is immaculate, and it was a simple swap in part which is impressive as most 1911 parts require fitting. SDS Tisas parts are machined to exacting tolerances and the quality shows. All of the parts I have ordered to date have fit my Tisas 1911 pistols as “drop-in” parts.
I was looking for a way to mount a red dot on my Stingray when I noticed Tisas already has a slide precut for mounting an optic. Hoping that since it was manufactured by the same company, the fit and finish would match up, and it does perfectly. Having it complete with everything to just install the slide and mount the optic made it a simple process. Great quality and perfect fit.
Perfect fit
Bought the 1911 optics cut carry slide for my Stingray. I was consistently low and left with the iron sites that were on the original slide. Lots of advice received about trigger pull for righties, etc. Nothing worked. The OC slide fit perfectly. Liked the iron sites on the OC slide better than the original, but still low/left (~2" @ 10 yards). Had the iron sites adjusted on both by a gunsmith. At least centered now. Fitted a 507k x2 which fit perfectly but elevation remained too high and couldn't adjust any further without a shim. Traded for a Vortex defender CCW 3 MOA which also fit perfectly without shim or plate. Bore sited optic and iron sites (both). Rear site off on iron sites but elevation still on. Defender held zero and carved out the red center at 10 yds. Had considered trading it all for a Shadow 2 due to centering issues. Glad I held out for the smith and optic and saved some money. Now will be working on my technique, speed and accuracy. May tweak a bit later with an EGW bushing and a tuned trigger, but not yet.
I like the slide but the Holosun 507k is too long and would require filing to at the lower front part of the optic or slide. I pulled a Shield SMS2 optic off another pistol and it fits fine as it has a flat from base.
This slide is what i have been wanting . It works and does a very good job.
I put this slide on my 9mm Stingray, and it works great, shoots great (with the Holosun 507K), and it works well on my 9mm Tank Commander, equally well. I am very happy with it. I have the B9R DS pistol, also, with the same slide, it was the impetus for buying the slide for the Stingray. It's almost like cheating.
