Military Armament Corporation (MAC), a member of the SDS Arms family of brands, introduces the MAC-5 LMF Handguard, a modern light-mounted foregrip designed for the MAC-5 and a wide range of MP5-pattern firearms. Featuring an integrated 700-lumen LED light, 9,000 candela of output, and clearance for suppressors up to 1.9 inches in diameter, the LMF brings contemporary lighting technology to one of the most recognizable firearm platforms in history.

A Modern Approach to a Classic MP5 Accessory

Integrated flashlight handguards have long been associated with the MP5 platform. Classic designs, including the well-known SureFire® 628 and 928 series, offered a compact alternative to mounting external weapon lights, but many relied on older incandescent technology and presented challenges when used with modern suppressors.

The MAC-5 LMF Handguard revisits that concept with modern LED technology, improved illumination, and a suppressor-compatible design.

Rather than adding a separate flashlight mount, pressure switch, and wiring to the firearm, the LMF incorporates the lighting system directly into the handguard. The result is a streamlined, functional accessory that preserves the familiar profile of the MP5 while providing modern illumination capabilities.

Designed for Modern Performance

The MAC-5 LMF features a durable, glass-filled reinforced nylon body with an IPX6 water-resistant design. Its integrated LED and optimized reflector produce 700 lumens and 9,000 candela, delivering focused illumination for close- to medium-range visibility.

A right-side pressure-pad switch provides momentary and constant-on operation, while a separate ON/OFF cutoff switch helps prevent accidental activation during transportation or storage.

Powered by two included CR123A batteries, the LMF provides up to five hours of runtime. The light also features standard Scout Light-pattern bezel threading, offering additional flexibility with compatible aftermarket bezels.

Perhaps most importantly, the LMF was designed with modern suppressor use in mind, providing clearance for suppressors measuring up to 1.9 inches in diameter.

MP5 Handguard Compatibility

Although developed for the MAC-5, the LMF is designed as a direct replacement for standard MP5-pattern handguards and supports several popular firearms, including:

  • POF MP5

  • MKE AP5

  • Zenith ZF-5

  • HK53

  • HK94 / HK SP5

  • Other compatible MP5-pattern firearms

Minor fitting may be required depending on the firearm manufacturer and configuration.

The LMF is not compatible with SureFire M640DF Dual Fuel, Vampire dual-LED, or older 3V bezels.
